Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat Katha

 Significance of Nirjala Ekadashi:-

Ekadashi fast is considered to be the most popular fast among Hindus. There are twenty-four Ekadashis in a year, but Jyeshtha Shukla Ekadashi is considered to be the most fruitful among all these Ekadashis because by observing this one Ekadashi fast one gets the fruits of the Ekadashi fasting for the whole year.

The fasting of Nirjala Ekadashi is very abstinent. In this age, this fast is said to be full of happiness and finally salvation. Eating food is prohibited on the Ekadashi of both Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha.

Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat Katha:-

The mythological significance and lectures of Nirjala Ekadashi fast are no less interesting. When the omniscient Ved Vyas had made the Pandavas the resolution of the Ekadashi fast, which gives the four Purusharthas: Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha,

Yudhishthira said: Janardana! Please describe the Ekadashi that falls in the bright half of Jyeshtha month.

Lord Krishna said: O king! It will be described by the Supreme God Satyavati Nandan Vyasji, because he is a philosopher of all the scriptures and a well-versed scholar of the Vedas and Vedas.

Then Vedvyasji started saying: It is forbidden to eat food on the Ekadashi of both the Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. On the day of Dwadashi, take a holy bath and worship Lord Keshav with flowers. Then after the end of the daily work, first feed the Brahmins and lastly eat the food himself.

Hearing this, Bhimsen said: Most intelligent father! Hear my best. King Yudhishthira, Mother Kunti, Draupadi, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva, they never eat food on Ekadashi and always tell me that you should not eat Bhimsen Ekadashi, but I tell them that I am not hungry. Will go

On hearing Bhimsen, Vyasji said: If you consider hell to be corrupt and you want to attain heaven and then you should not eat on the Ekadashis of both the sides.

Bhimsen said, great wise father! I tell the truth before you. I cannot fast even after eating once, then how can I live by fasting? The fire called Vrika is always burning in my stomach, so when I eat too much, then it calms down

. I can do only one fast in a whole year. By which attainment of heaven is easy and by doing which I can become part of welfare, decide on one such fast and tell me. I will strictly follow it.

Vyasji said: Bhima! In the month of Jyeshtha, whether the Sun is on Taurus or Gemini, the Ekadashi in Shukla Paksha, should be fasting for it without any effort. You can put water in the mouth only for rinse or achaman, except that a learned man should not put any kind of water in the mouth, otherwise the fast is broken.

If a person renounces water on Ekadashi from sunrise to sunrise on the second day, then this fast is completed. After that, after bathing on Dwadashi in the early morning, donate water and gold to the brahmins. In this way, after completing all the tasks, the Jitendriya Purush should have food with the brahmins.

There is no doubt in the least amount of Ekadashi in a year, the result of all those Ekadashis can be attained by the mere observance of Nirjala Ekadashi. Lord Keshav, who holds a conch shell, a wheel and a mace, had told me that if a man leaves everyone and takes refuge in Me alone and remains fast on Ekadashi, then he is freed from all sins.

A person who observes Ekadashi fasting does not have a huge, formidable figure and black-coloured, fierce eunuchs. In the end, the Pitambara, the gentle nature, having Sudarshan in his hand and the speedy Vishnudoot like mind, finally takes this Vaishnava Purush to the abode of Lord Vishnu.

Therefore, on Nirjala Ekadashi, fast and worship Shri Hari with full efforts. Whether a man or a woman, if she has committed a sin as great as Mount Meru, then all that is consumed by the effect of this Ekadashi fast. The person who follows the law of water on that day, he becomes a partaker of virtue. He is heard receiving the result of donating various gold coins in every prahar.

Whatever a person does on the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, such as bath, charity, chanting, homa, etc., everything is renewable, this is the statement of Lord Krishna. By fasting properly on Nirjala Ekadashi, one attains Vaishnavism. A person who eats food on Ekadashi, he eats the food of sin. In this world, he is like a Chandala and on death he is in misery.

Those who fast on Ekadashi in the bright half of the eldest and donate, they will attain the supreme position. Those who observe fast on Ekadashi, even though they are brahma-killers, drunkards, thieves and anti-gurus, they are freed from all evils.

Kuntinandan! On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, listen to the special donations and duties prescribed for men and women: Worship of Lord Vishnu sleeping in water on that day and donating water to Dhenu or Pratishtha Dhenu or Ghritmayi Dhenu is appropriate. .. The

brahmins should be diligently satisfied with sufficient dakshina and variety of sweets. By doing this the brahmins are definitely satisfied and on their satisfaction, Sri Hari gives salvation. Those who have observed the fast of this Nirjala Ekadashi, engaged in Shama, Dum, and charity, while worshiping Srihari and awakening in the night, have brought along with them the last hundred generations and the coming hundred generations to the supreme abode of Lord Vasudeva. On

the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, one should donate food, clothes, cow, water, bed, beautiful seat, kamandalu and umbrella. One who donates shoes to a superior and deserving brahmin, sitting on a golden plane, is established in heaven. One who listens or describes the glory of this Ekadashi with devotion, he goes to heaven. The fruit that a person obtains by doing Shradh at the time of solar eclipse on the new moon of Chaturdashi, is also obtained by hearing

it. I will give up any other water as well. Deveshwar Lord Vishnu should be worshiped on Dwadashi. After worshiping with scent, incense, flowers and beautiful clothes, chant the following mantra while taking a pledge to donate a pitcher of water.

O Lord Hrishikesh, the one who connects with the ocean of the world! By donating this pitcher of water, you can help me attain supreme speed.

Bhimsen! In the month of Jyeshtha, the auspicious Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha should be observed without water. On that day, the best Brahmins should donate pitchers of water with sugar. By doing this, a person feels bliss by reaching near Lord Vishnu.

Thereafter, after offering Brahmin food on Dwadashi, one should eat food himself. One who observes Papanashini Ekadashi completely in this way, he is freed from all sins and attains the blissful state. Hearing this, Bhimsen also started fasting on this auspicious Ekadashi. Since then it became famous in the people as Pandava Dwadashi.

On the day of Jyeshtha Shukla Paksha Ekadashi, Lord Krishna abducted Goddess Rukmani, hence this Ekadashi is also known as Rukmani-Haran Ekadashi.
