Time travel is a hypothetical process of movement of a person or objects from one point to another in time using a hypothetical device popularised by science fiction as Time Machine.

This concept is widely recognized in philosophy and fiction. There are some theories of relativity in physics that show some hope of forward and backward time travel, but to this date, it hasn't been practically possible to have those technical arrangements by scientists to make this happen in reality.

Time Travel is something that has always been the subject of excitement for everyone. Time Travel is one thing that has fascinated almost all of us at some point in life. There are so many movies based on time travel and we love watching them because somewhere inside us we all want to believe that it does exist. There are so many videos but claim that time travel is real. Of all the videos playing on YouTube whether they are real or fake, whether those videos actually know anything about time travel, but this is such a thrilling concept and we want to believe that it does exist, we want to believe that it is true and therefore those of us who are really interested in it try to find such videos and movies and talk with people on this topic because we so much wish it to be real.

There has not been any solid scientific proof ever of any such incident by physicists and scientists that could indicate an actual time travel incident ever.

But do you know that Indian sacred text has proof of time travel right?  A Time Travel that happened in past and is clearly mentioned in Indian scriptures. There is a story of Time Travel in scriptures like Mahabharata, Bhagwat-Puran, Harivamsha, Devi Bhagwatam and Vishnu Puran etc and is known to most of the Vedic scholars and other people who are familiar with the spiritual literature of ancient India.

According to one of the four sacred canonical Hindu texts (sutras), known as Rigveda, a yuga cycle popularly known as chatur yuga or maha yuga is a cyclic age (epoch) in Hindu cosmology that lasts for 4,320,000 years and repeats four yugas or world ages namely Krita (Satya) Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga all characterised by entirely different properties which include duration of Yuga, physical properties, moral characteristics, consciousness level and life span etc of living beings. Seventy-one yuga cycles make one Manavantar.

So the time travel story we are talking about here happened between two of these Yugas in the Manavantara we are living in.

In Satya Yuga there was a King named Kakudmi. He had a daughter named Revati. She is his only daughter who was extremely talented and very dear to her father. King Kakudmi searched the entire planet earth and couldn't finalise a groom for marrying his daughter. So, he took her to Brahmaloka (heaven) the abode of demi-god Brahma to discuss his concern. Brahma was was busy watching a musical performance by Gandharvas, so Kakudma waited for the performance to end and then started the discussion with Brahma. At this, Brahma laughed and reminded King Kakudma that the time reference is different for different planets and twenty-seven chatur-yugas have already passed on earth within the time he spend in Brahmaloka for the performance to be finished and all their associates must have died by now. He suggested he marry Revati before kaliyuga comes.  Realising his mistake Kakudma became shocked and anxious. Brahma tried to comfort him by suggesting to him that there is an eligible groom on earth at this moment, in Dwapar Yuga. He told him that Lord has descended to earth in his true form for doing past times as Krishna and has expanded himself as his brother Balaram. Balaram form of the lord is the right person for his daughter Revathi.

Hearing this King Kakudma immediately reached earth and met with Krishna and Balaram. Because of the change in yuga, everything was drastically changed, the environment, the living beings and everything else. The humans were of smaller size and strength. When both families agreed for marriage, Lord Balaram touched Revati and she became shorter and similar to other humans on earth in Dwapar Yuga. And now after becoming compatible with each other they got married and Revati became the consort of Balaram. So, this is how King Kakudma and Revati accidentally and unknowingly travelled time and established relationships with people from the future.

There are two more time travel stories that are popular in Mahabharat. Arjuna also travelled to Brahmaloka(which has a slower speed of time) for some work and due to the difference in the speed of the time-wheel (Kaal-Chakra) at different planets when he came back to the earth he found himself fast-forwarded as compared to other people of the same age.

Manu, an exalted devotee of Lord Krishna also travelled time and space and went from Satya-Yuga to Treta-Yuga after surviving the annihilation process by Lord Vishnu.

So, scriptures establish this fact that the Gods and demigods have had the special powers to travel different spaces and times in a forwarding direction.

I hope you liked this real-life time travel story. Please share your views in the comment section and tell us what else you know about this Time-Travel concept.
